Purven Jandhu

French

Purven is a passionate, enthusiastic and engaging French language teacher with experience teaching KS2, KS3 and KS4.  She has been Head of French and is proud of GCSE results she has achieved along with her team and her students. She has worked as a GCSE exam marker for a number of years so has an in depth understanding of exams. Her approach to teaching is student centred and focuses on the individual needs of her students, she is able to adapt well and has a wealth of teaching techniques and resources to support this.

Purven has led on Year 6 transition to secondary school where the focus was on both academic and personal development in all areas of school. This means she has a sound understanding of how young people can achieve success from primary school right through to their GCSE years. She has tutored small groups of 6-7 year olds where the sessions were deliberately fun and engaging using lots of games, songs and interactive activities to ignite the same passion she has in languages in children.

Purven lived and worked in France during her university years, where she taught English to primary school aged children. She strongly believes that, like her experience in France, learning languages opens doors for future study and work, and benefits all young people with their communication skills, confidence, problem solving skills, resilience and memory - all of which are highly transferable skills for future study, work and life!
